If you love cooking, there is no dearth of TV shows, internet recipes and cookbooks which will help you on your way in becoming a world class chef. Cooking is not just about the food. It has also about lifestyles, cultures, discovering new tastes and flavors, beauty and presentations, delicacy, etc. Now it is making an appearance in the technological world too. Here are the best iOS apps for aspiring chefs.
A lot of world-class chefs are creating apps to help people with their cooking. Apart from the convenience (think of how you will never have to carry a cookbook, but can refer to the recipe on your phone wherever you are), these phone apps are a great way to surprise your family and friends of your culinary skills. When they don’t see any evidence of a cook-book, you might be able to pull off a modest, ‘Oh that, I fixed it up in a minute while experimenting in the kitchen’ kind of line!
Three iOS Apps for Aspiring Chefs
1. 20 Minute Meals – Jamie Oliver
Who does not love Jamie Oliver? Come on, you’ve seen his shows; you would have drooled and wanted to eat those dishes. With this app, you have about 60 recipes which are accompanied with step-by-step photographs to make sure your creation looks just as good as his. There is a ton of tips and tricks you can do within the kitchen accompanied with videos showing you exactly how to do things in the kitchen, like chopping, blending, etc like an expert. And for the recipes, you have a neat little shopping list of ingredients, so you may indeed be spending only 20 minutes!
2. Martha’s Everyday Food
You know which Martha this is. Yes, Martha Stewart, the lovable chef who makes cooking fun. This app will actually send you a recipe every day –a recipe with ingredients which are easy to find and what your family might love. You can also search for Martha’s favorite and best-known recipes. You can share recipes, and look for something particular by creating a “search by ingredient” list! This app has navigational instructions to the closest store to get all you need for dinner!
3. Chef
Chef is truly for an aspiring chef. It allows you to create your own cookbook. You can share your work with thousand other aspiring chefs and access their recipes at a single touch. This is a great app if you want to learn from peers and you can always choose the recipes you want made public and those you want to keep private.

Your blog post would require a little tweaking Robin, as it is not just aspiring formal chef but for everyone who wants to cook to rekindle his/her taste buds. Though cooking is not rocket science, guidelines are necessary and who else can be a teacher than your own smartphone? iOS apps mentioned here are awesome but we could also use some android apps too. Hoping for that list as well! Great work..
