Brilliant quotes stands tall among its peers for two reasons; a great UI and some cool additional features. The classic Holo UI is eye catching with a surprisingly spacious interface. For anyone who loves to use widgets, there’s the option to add one on the home screen as well.

The Home page lists three main quotes; the quote of the day, the staff pick of the day, and a random quote. The quotes are presented in a stylish manner with a picture of the speaker. Tapping on a quote will take you to a screen where you can find a little bit of information (from Wikipedia) about the person who delivered the quote at the top of the screen while the quote and its category are displayed in the center.

Options to favorite the quote and share it is available just below the speaker’s bio. Tapping on the top orange bar (you can activate this hidden bar by tapping anywhere on the screen) will display the quote in a beautiful full screen mode with no distractions.

Brilliant Quotes has over 3600 quotes in its database from over 260 people. The BQ menu on that orange bar we spoke about earlier lets you discover quotes by author, by category, by the top 50, by the latest quotes and you can apply a range of filters on various topics: quotes about strength, quotes about fear & death, quotes about love, quotes from a particular author and so on. A search bar on the dashboard lets you pick up quotes based on keywords or authors.

The free version of the app is ad-driven but with the premium version, you can lose the ads and unlock some additional features such as the ability to add your favorite quotes to the My Quotes section where you can organize them to your convenience.

You also unlock the ability to export your favorite quotes to a TXT format or CSV file and send it via email. You also get the ability to personalize the app widget to show specific types of quotes. Any future pro features will also automatically become available to you.
