ccPing Brings a Secure Way to Send Instant Messages

Instant messaging is the way we communicate these days, and most of us are all too familiar with the messaging services provided by apps on our smartphones, as well as Snapchat, Facebook, and more. Using these readily available social spaces, we can send out blips of information to friends and followers, and receive, just as quickly, responses from all.

However, these free modes of communication come with a price – the price of security. There are no firewalls or assurances given by any of these apps that guarantee prying eyes will not get hold of what you send, whether it be text, photos, or video. Most of us think that what we send over the skies will only be visible by the reader of the receiving device. Think again! Anything that soars over the airwaves through apps that are not attentive to security are open game to anyone who intercedes.

Not all apps allow for this, however. If you are looking for a safe way to chat in real-time, ccPing is the app for you. It allows for full functionality in instant messaging enhanced by the knowledge that messages are safe from uninvited guests.

Download the free app and create an account using your phone number. Once you create and customize your account to meet your specific needs, you can start adding contacts and chat with them. Optionally, you can give ccPing permission to view your Contacts list and import them into the app, so you have a quickly-built list ready to go. If you are not up for that, you can manually enter in contacts ready to use ccPing.

To start a chat with a contact, create a new conversation with a contact and type away. The interface is simple and easy to use, and very much like any other IM interface. The interface also lets you know if: a message has been sent, has been delivered, and when it has been read. A feature most other apps usually don’t provide.

To make a conversation secure, create it as such. You will provide this chat session a title and a password, which you will also give to the recipient, if you wish for them to be able to take part in the conversation. Once set up this way, start the chat knowing full well that only you and your recipient will see the messages. If a particular message needs to be encrypted, you tap on the lock at the top of the screen and the message will be encrypted. To decrypt, the recipient will be required to enter the password to unlock an read it.

Typewritten messages are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to functionality in this app. You can record and send quick voice messages and carry out remote conversations online that you can hear instead of read! Access to camera functionality allows you to take a snap and send it, in regular mode or secure.

What would be nice is to make an entire conversation encrypted, and not have to do so on a message by message basis. Aside from that, ccPing is a handy messaging app that delivers on its promise. If you’re looking for a secure way to send instant messages ccPing is definite download.
