Gold is one of those words that make everybody’s ears prick up at the slightest mention. It evokes images of ancient treasures and pirate ships that have made their way down to Davy Jones’s locker. Entire dynasties have been won and lost over this glittering commodity. Indeed, there are still Asian countries that do most of their business using gold instead of the less stable local currency.
