YOGA Free is a yoga app that is all about enabling you to make your own yoga programs whilst giving you the tools to successfully carry them out with minimal effort on your part. The YOGA Free app has hundreds of positions, or poses to show you a clear picture of an animated woman doing the action. Videos are available on the poses that are perhaps not as easy to understand as the very basic ones.

YOGA Free comes ready loaded with simple beginners program called ‘Quick Recipe’ and is great to get you started. After that you are able to make your own personalized programs, choosing the positions from the list of poses ranging from easy to very hard. You can customize these programs to suit your needs and even chose which music is played whilst you perform them. The music is taken straight from your iOS device, so you are guaranteed to like what you are listening to!

It also has a facility to share with Facebook and Twitter allowing friends and other YOGA users know what you have done. It is a good way to encourage (as well as check up on!) friends that are also meant to be exercising.

The fact that the yoga teacher speaks the instructions of every pose in your program out loud is an excellent way to share the app with friends and family and also allows your hands to be completely free whilst performing the poses. The voice is clear and loud and carries well. There is also written text explaining the moves and is written is plainly and is very easy to comprehend to ensure you can fully understand the moves and execute them correctly.

Each individual pose in the program runs on from the other after the forty second timer counts down and therefore means that there is no need to move or to go to your phone and consequently breaking the mind set of the yoga.

It is a shame that there are no in depth statistic boards yet. Things like what pose you do most, what program is your favorite, day spent doing the most yoga and day most likely to do yoga etc. would be really interesting as well as helpful for people who may fall into the same routine and perhaps not push themselves enough. The statistics you do have are found on the in-app calendar and is good from the point of view that it tells you how long you have spent on yoga, what day you did what program and how long was spent on it, but it would still be nice to be able to have a little more information.
