The popular American Merriam Webster Dictionary has finally made its way to the Android market. It has fantastic features that include voice search, synonyms, antonyms, example sentences, audio pronunciations, and more. There’s no better companion for you to strengthen your language skills than the Merriam Webster Dictionary.
You can look up words by typing them in the Search box or by Voice search. The Recent option displays your recent searches with options to delete them when you’re done. The Daily Word option teaches you a new word each day, and what like is the little extra piece of information that provides a bit of historical reference to the origin of the word in the Did you know section.
Offline search is also available so be ready to cough up enough space to accommodate (19M) the dictionary. However, you will still need the internet to listen to pronunciations, use voice search and to access the Daily Word option.
The free version of the app, unfortunately is ad-supported, so you just have to put up with some crappy stuff if you want a great reference tool for free. Download it now from the Android Market.
