I’m using Word 2010 and tried to do as above, but I do not have the option to select “Different First Page” to remove the number “1″ from the first page. So, I’m still trying to figure it out!

It was easy in older versions of Word to begin numbering on pg. 2 with page 2. Now I cannot figure out how to do this. I want to begin numbering on pg. 2 with page 2, not page 1 (because of a title page). Please help.

      Hi Bob,

It’s not complicated in Word 2010 either. Just check the Different First page Option in the Header & Footer Tools Design tab, Options group. Then in the Header & Footer group, click Page Number, select Format Page Numbers. In the dialog box, select Start at and ensure that 1 is selected. Now your page 2 will display page 2 page 3 as page 3 and so on. Page 1 will not have a page number.
