Marketing a business is nearly as important as producing the quality product or service the company provides. To be successful, marketing has to be done day and night so as to reach as many customers as possible. Fortunately, today’s technology can make that happen a lot easier. By taking advantage of mobile technology and the apps that come with it, a large audience can be reached with little effort. Whether aiding with organization or actually getting the message out about the company, the apps listed below are invaluable to your marketing efforts.
Apps to Enhance Mobile Marketing
1. Facebook
While it’s taken some hits lately following its stock offering, Facebook remains the top dog for social media. With about 1 billion active monthly users, the site provides access to a huge audience. A company page provides a place to list information about the business, as well as product examples. In addition, the business can interact with customers, who can leave comments and feedback or ask questions. Links can also be posted on the site to draw customers, or potential ones, to the company’s desktop or mobile website.
2. Twitter
Much like Facebook, Twitter provides a business the ability to interact with customers or attempt to reach new ones. Status updates concerning the company can be posted in 140 characters or less. Important information can be sent out to customers, as well as staying informed with what is going on in the industry by following the accounts of similar businesses. Videos and photos can also be shared, and there are host of other apps that work alongside Twitter to manage multiple accounts, shrink website URLs or collect photos for viewing.
3. CardMunch
Maintaining an extensive network of other marketing professionals, as well as possible clients, is made much easier with CardMunch. The app can scan and convert business cards to address book contacts stored in an iPhone or iPad. These contacts can be added as connections to a LinkedIn account later. There is a “new” section where the most recent transcribed cards are put so the user can access those cards easier.
4. WordPress
A blog can be an excellent way for a business to market itself. The WordPress app allows users to manage their WordPress account from anywhere by using a mobile device. Bloggers can moderate discussions, create or edit their posts, add images of videos and view statistics for their pages.
5. Evernote
When trying to gather new ideas for a blog, the notebook app Evernote is a must have for remembering everything. It allows users to make notes, save web pages, import photos and even offers an option to take audio notes. There are several other applications that work in tandem with it, including one for taking notes by hand or making drawings and another in which notes can be hand drawn on photos.
Separate notebooks can be created for different categories of notes, and there’s also the ability to create various to-do lists. Notebooks can be shared by making them public and providing the addresses to others, or they can be posted on Facebook or Twitter. The premium account features the ability to add a PIN lock to notebooks or to allow others to access and edit them. Individual notes can be tagged, or there’s also an efficient search option to find certain keywords within notes. Notebooks can also be stacked together. Best of all, the app works across multiple platforms on the same account, so notes saved through an iPhone while on the road can be accessed from a personal computer back in the office or at home.
6. Dropbox
Many mobile devices do not have a system for saving files in one, easy to access location. Dropbox fills that need. Documents, PDFs, presentation, photos and videos can all be saved to this cloud storage app for later use. The files can then be shared with co-workers at any location. They can open them, edit them and then put them back for review. The free version contains two gigabytes of memory space, with the ability to earn or purchase more. For very large files, a link can be sent to a co-worker or client and they can access it without having to download it.
Marketing a business can be done just about anywhere with a mobile device. The mobile marketing apps listed above make the process even easier by allowing a person to gather data, store, share it with co-workers and then disburse it to customers and potential customers.
