Acer has expanded its consumer product portfolio with the launch of nine new products at its “A Touch More Connected” event in New York yesterday. The company’s latest line up of products include hybrids, notebooks, tablets and all-in-one desktop PCs. Here is a quick rundown of the slew of devices that Acer is making available to consumers in 2014.

Acer Aspire Switch 10
The Aspire Switch 10 is a 2-in-1, a notebook and tablet combined in one device. A detachable magnetic snap hinge makes for easy transition between the two. This hybrid device boasts four modes. In the Notebook Mode, it acts as a fully functional PC with a comfortable keyboard and precision touchpad. In the Pad mode, it is a tablet that is ideal for browsing the internet and watching movies. In the Display mode you can transform the screen into a presentation area, and in the Tent mode, you can use it in confined spaces such as an airplane.
The Aspire Switch 10 is thin at less than 0.35 inches in tablet mode and 0.44 inches with the keyboard dock. It weighs 0.59 kg as a tablet and 1.17 kg with the keyboard. It comes with a 10.1-inch 1366 x 768 pixel display with IPS technology and is powered by Intel Atom (Bay Trail T) quad-core processor with up to 64GB storage and 2GB of RAM.
The Switch 10 runs Windows 8.1 and comes preinstalled with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013. The Acer Aspire Switch 10 will be availability in Pan America and Europe, Middle East and Africa in late May with prices starting at US $379.99/€ 349 respectively.
Acer Iconica One 7
The Iconica One 7 is a 7-inch budget Android tablet that is powered by an Intel dual-core processor with 1 GB of RAM. The device comes with a 1280×800 HD resolution with IPS and offers up to 7 hours battery life. It runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) but is upgradeable to Android 4.4 (KitKat). You can take your pick of the device in one of colors, red, white, black, blue and pink.
It is .35 inches thin, is equipped with 0.3 MP front and 2 MP rear cameras, two speakers and a MicroSD card slot for extended storage. The Acer Iconia One 7 will be available in Pan American markets at the end of June with prices starting at US$129.99; in Europe, Middle East and Africa in the middle of May with prices starting at €139.
Acer Iconica Tab 7
The Iconia Tab 7 has the same 1280×800 7-inch display as the One 7, but has slightly better specs in the form of a quad-core processor, a 5 MP rear camera, and support for 3G, Wi-Fi and the ability to make phone calls. It is .35 inches thin, 4.6 inches width and weights 298 g. Battery life is estimated to be around six hours. The Iconia Tab 7 will launch in Latin America at the end of June starting at 1,990 MX Peso, and in Europe, the Middle East and Africa starting at €149.
Aspire E 14 and E 15 Notebook Series
The Aspire E 14 and E 15 notebook series offers an optimized touch experience with its 10-point multi-touch screen. Users can tap, swipe and pinch to interact with their screen content. The Precision Touchpad supports 6 core Windows 8.1 TouchPad gestures and the Acer chiclet keyboard offers a comfortable typing experience. There is an optional M-DISC Ready Drive that can store up to 4.7GB data.
The notebooks run Windows 8.1, and come with up to 16 GB memory and 1 TB hard disk. They incorporate the latest NVIDIA GeForce 800M series or AMD Radeon™ R-Series discrete graphics which should offer exceptional viewing or gaming experience. Users can also pick between 2014 AMD A-Series accelerated processors or 4th Generation Intel® Core™ processors.
These notebooks are no doubt designed for users who want portability, productivity and entertainment in a stylish and affordable package. The battery life is said to last 7 hours and is said to offer a great multimedia experience with its Skype Certified technology. There is a built-in digital microphone with high quality speakers to enhance bass band audio performance and allow authentic Skype communication.
The Aspire E 14 is available in six colors — Piano Black, Pearl White, Glossy Copper, Ruby Red, Topaz Blue, and Jade Green — with a geometric pattern on the cover. The Acer Aspire E 15 is available in five colors — Midnight Black, Titanium Silver, Tiger’s Eye Brown, Sapphire Blue, and Garnet Red with an elegant hairline pattern. The Acer Aspire E 14 series will be available in Pan America and Europe, Middle East and Africa in June with prices starting at US$299 and €349; in China from the end of May with prices starting at RMB 3999. The Acer Aspire E 15 series will be available in Pan America in June with prices starting at US$299; in Europe, Middle East and Africa mid-May with prices starting at €299; in China from the end of May with prices starting at RMB 3999.
Aspire V 11 (Touch) and E 11 Notebooks
Acer is also introducing two 11.6-inch notebooks, the Acer Aspire V 11 (touch) and E 11. These are thin and light notebooks measuring 21.2 mm thin and weighing 1.29 kg. Users can get up to 1 TB of storage space for storing their movies, music, photos, and documents. Users can take their pick of Intel Pentium Quad Core processors or Intel Celeron CPUs and memory of up to 8GB.
The notebooks come with a1366 x 768 pixel resolution HD display. There is a full-sized keyboard and a Precision Touchpad that supports Windows 8.1 TouchPad gestures. All the essential ports, including USB 3.0 and HDMI, are at the rear of the notebook while the audio jack, USB ports, and the SD card slot are placed on the left side for easy access.
The notebooks are available in Cool Silver, Rhodonite Pink, Tiger’s Eye Brown, and Quartz Blue. The Acer Aspire E 11 will be available in Pan America in June with prices starting at US$269.99; in Europe, Middle East and Africa and China in mid-May with prices starting at €299 and RMB 2599. The Acer Aspire V 11 with touch will be available in Pan America in June with prices starting at US$369.99; in Europe, Middle East and Africa from the end of May with prices starting at €349.
Aspire U5 Series All-in-One
Finally, Acer unveiled two new all-in-one (AIO) desktop PCs with 23-inch Full HD IPS displays. Premium users can take a look at the Acer Aspire U5-620 while budget users may consider the Aspire Z3-615. The Acer Aspire U5-620 is equipped with advanced video and audio communication features certified by Skype. It also comes with a capacitive 10-point edge-to-edge multi-touch screen with anti-fingerprint coating. Users can lay it flat or tilt it with one finger.
Its features a Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS display and offers a 4th generation Intel Core processor and optional NVIDIA® GeForce GTX graphics. Users can choose up to 1 TB of hybrid drive storage with up to 16 GB memory. It comes preloaded with Windows 8.1. The Acer Aspire U5-620 will be available in Pan America in late June with prices starting at US$999; and in Europe, Middle East and Africa at the end of May with prices starting at €899.
The Acer Aspire Z3-615 offers a 4th generation Intel Core processor and optional NVIDIA GeForce graphics. It delivers sound through its front-facing speakers and Dolby Digital Plus Home Theater. It also comes preloaded with Windows 8.1. The display is a Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS display.The Acer Aspire Z3-615 will be available in Pan America and China in late June with prices starting at $599.99 and RMB 4,499 respectively; in Europe, Middle East and Africa at the end of May with prices starting at €699.
