Last year’s LG G2 model was an impressive one and it looks like LG has perfected last year’s flagship model with its latest launch, the LG G3. If you haven’t already followed all the leaks over the last few weeks and months, then you should know that the LG G3 hasn’t just got some improvements on the inside, its also received a beautiful makeover on the outside resulting in a stylish metallic finish.
New Features in LG G3
One of the first new things you’ll notice about the LG G3 is its size. It measures 5.5 inches compared to the 5.2 inches of the LG G2. It also has a new quad HD Gorilla Glass 3 screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels with a highly impressive 543ppi pixel density.
The LG G3 processor is also an improvement over the previous device: a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with an Adreno 330 GPU. As far as the RAM goes, you can take your pick between a 16GB model with 2GB RAM and a 32GB model with a 3GB RAM. Both variants include an expandable storage slot of up to 128GB.
While the camera sensor remains at 13MP, you’ll find new features in the form of OIS+ (optical image stabilisation) technology, 4K video recording, a faster “Laser” auto focus, and a front facing camera that lets you set an auto timer with a hand gesture that should be ideal for taking selfies.
Unlike the LG G2 which featured a non-removable battery, the LG G3 comes with a 3000mAh removable battery. Additionally, the device comes with wireless charging, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, USB 2.0, Infrared and LTE-Advanced.
The LG G3 is also getting three new smart features in the form of a Smart Keyboard, Smart Notice and Smart Security. Smart Keyboard is basically an adaptive keyboard that observes your typing behavior and predicts words as you type. Smart Notice is somewhat of a personal assistant. It reminds you about calls you declined to take earlier, supplies weather information and lets you know if you want to delete apps you haven’t used in a long time. Smart Security lets you remotely wipe your phone should you lose it.
The LG G3 also gets new accessories in the form of a new case called QuickCircle, which offers a circular design to easily access the device’s functionality.
The metallic finish of the LG G3 isn’t actual metal though. Its just a skin but a stylish improvement of the cheap plastic looks of the past. Although the G3 still retains the rear-mounted power and volume controls, the buttons are smaller and flatter adding to an overall smoother look.
