If you’re out and about capturing a fun moment and want to share it with friends, there is no better app to do that than Wiink. Oftentimes, we find ourselves in the middle of a great moment and we know those who are absent would love to partake. Since they are not around, it makes sense to hit RECORD and let your device do its duty.
So, now you have that grand experience digitized and safely kept. How can you easily get it to those who would love to see it? Most of the time, we are forced to go home, copy the video off our device and upload it to a site, send it (although most videos end up being too long to email), or posting it someplace. Wiink makes it possible to just ship it right then and there.
Wiink App Review
Wiink is an awesome app for iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, that lets you capture and send with a few swipes and selections. No more recording and remembering to upload later. It also boasts a very nice built in feature of taking 30-second clips that seamlessly get sent. Sometimes you want to video chat…just another new way to socially connect online.
The 30-second clips are perfect for this, as you can define a communication loop (or circle of friends), and send mini clips to all, and engage in an online video clip chat session. Another great feature is the ability to set a self-destruct mode on a video clip. This way, you can send to intended recipients, keep the video available for viewing for specific amount of time, and that it will be destroyed and unavailable after the defined period. Wiink assures that it does not keep those videos in storage that have been marked as “self-destruct”.
This app leverages the power behind many of Wiink inc’s many other app offerings. It harnesses the power of the Cloud to keep clips safe and available. You simply sign up for an account and start uploading clips to share. You designate whom you want to send clips to. The overall look and feel of the app is clean and easy to navigate. The creators have kept things simple by focusing on one need and delivering a quick an easy to use solution for it.
Most of the features are fairly straightforward. The only item I would say needs tweaking is the main menu. The main menu is found at the bottom of the screen. From there, you can access your information, create a clip, chat, or view videos. This menu “minimizes” to provide maximum screen viewing area, revealing in its place a blue dome at the bottom of the screen. To bring up the menu, you lightly swipe the top of the blue dome. Maybe it’s just me, but you have to carefully start the swipe at the top of the dome. Too low and you swipe up the iPhone’s set of quick icons (e.g. Bluetooth, WiFi, Flashlight, etc.).
Overall, this app is a great find and a must have for those who need to share. You can video chat or share an experience fast, and bring life to your social networking experience.
