With the growing visibility of social media and the number of social start-ups increasing by the minute, it is becoming more and more important to constantly update and maintain blogger networks to be on par with other networks. We have come up with a list of 10 improvements that IndiBlogger, one of India’s largest social media site for bloggers can consider to enrich itself and its community.
10 Improvements I Would Like to See On IndiBlogger
1. Custom Profile Page
A custom profile page for each blogger with easy access to the profiles of all bloggers in the community will be helpful. Identifying bloggers will similar passions and interests will be much easier and help improve networking.
2. Post Submission Time
Although IndiBlogger permits submission of two articles every 24 hours, that is actually not the case, as the system does not allow submissions even after 48 hours. This issue, I noticed has also been raised in the forums.
3. Transparent and Dynamic Ranking
An open policy on ranking methodology will help bloggers understand the factors involved and can help them improve their blogs. Statistical information might also be an added benefit. Also, Indiranks are announced only at the end of a month or two. It should be made more dynamic like Alexa and be updated on a daily basis.
4. Contests
Category related contests enabling bloggers from each category to get an opportunity to showcase their skills will encourage and involve everyone in the community to bring out their talent in their respective spheres.
5. Notifications
Timely notification of changes that are happening on the IndiBlogger platform needed. For example, if someone in my network has published a post, I’d like to receive a notification with the post title. Likewise, when my post is promoted, I’d like to have the notification display the post title. Also if there are other important announcements made on the site, a notification will help.
6. Weekly Digest
It will be nice to have a weekly wrap up of the IndiBlogger activities sent out to all IndiBloggers.
7. Top Blogger Ranking
Ranking of blogs is fine. But what about bloggers themselves? Setting clear standards and parameters to rank bloggers based on writing skills, quality of content and other significant factors will help bloggers who are not up to the standard to learn and improvise.
8. Schemes for Blogs
Being in the company of corporates gives IndiBlogger the opportunity to make its site a single platform to showcase attractive special offers on blogging tools such as themes, books, and other services that many IndiBloggers are unaware of or could ill afford. Drawing attention to the various resources that are available in the market today and enabling easier access through discounts and special schemes is what is required to boost the community.
9. Services
It will be a bonus if a special category is created for bloggers who offer services other than blogging, such as marketing, SEO specialization, and more.
10. Job Portal
Having a job portal on IndiBlogger can help bloggers in the network find jobs related to writing, designing, and guest posting on sister blogs. This will serve as a good link to further relations and benefit collectively.
This is my wish list for IndiBlogger. I hope that IndiBlogger will set high standards and constantly seek to innovate and improvise its site and be a leader in social networking.
