10 Unique Features Of The Blackberry Z10

April 30, 2013

The smartphone market has evolved significantly in the past few years, and in order to step up to the game, BlackBerry unleashed its touchscreen unit – the BlackBerry z10. This long-awaited innovation by BlackBerry was only recently released in the United States and has caught the eyes of smartphone users everywhere with these cool, unique features:

Features Of The Blackberry Z10

BlackBerry’s Newest Innovation – the BlackBerry z10.

10 Unique Features Of The Blackberry Z10

1. Blackberry Hub

This is the z10’s new messaging center and all the messages pass through it, which includes social networking, instant email, and SMS. Furthermore, the Blackberry Hub is easily customizable (e.g. users can turn off or separate mailboxes at will).

2. Real Multitasking

It offers a QNX-enabled operating system with real-time, multitasking functionalities that allow you to focus on something else while apps run in the background, open multiple windows at the same time, or operate the phone in split-screen mode.

3. Intelligent Calendar

It is an app that not only reminds the user about certain events, but also suggests contacts who you might want to set up new appointments with. It does this by analyzing past events that have logged in your phone.

4. Hardware

While some may say the z10 isn’t the highest-quality or best-looking smartphone out there, it has undeniably one of the most flexible hardware. For instance, the z10 has a removable memory card and battery, which is something that most smartphones don’t have.

5. The Black Monolith Look

When turned on, the BlackBerry z10 screen is nice and bright. When turned off, however, the phone looks really sleek and cool, with a simple black rectangle appearance without anything flashy.

6. Software Keyboard

This is far better than the keyboards on other BlackBerry units such as Torch or Storm. The z10 keyboard is fairly quick and accurate, not to mention you don’t have to perform a lot of edits when using it. It still has a word prediction feature though, but you can get used to it with time.

7. Screen Sharing

The z10 is capable of sharing its screen via BlackBerry Messenger to other BB10 devices. One advantage of this feature is that technical support can view your screen on their end in case issues with your unit arise.

8. Browser

The z10 offers a Web browser that renders both full-HTML and mobile-optimized websites quickly and efficiently. It can even support private browsing and multiple tabs. And with its high-resolution screen, regular Web pages become highly readable.

9. TimeShift

This is a photo app that allows you to capture several photos at once so you can choose the best among the rest. So if, say, someone coughed or blinked when the pictures were taken, you can dial back time on the shots until you find one wherein everybody appears perfect.

10. Voice Control

The Voice Control feature allows users to use spoken commands to operate the unit. It is programmed to recognize natural speech patterns in such a way that users will always be understood, making it useful for composing emails, dictating documents, and sending messages.

With these features, it’s not surprising if you’d want a z10 of your own as soon as possible. Since the device costs quite a lot, most people who buy such devices look for ways of protecting them from damage like scratches, cracks and even scream splits that occur from wear and tear. They opt for solutions like screen protectors, skins and cases from vendors of mobile smartphone devices such as SF Planet, Incipio, Castagram and many more as a way of protecting their devices.

Richard Lis is a lover of all things related to technology. He has been keeping an eye on the latest releases in the smartphone market and he’s more than willing to spend for any phone that catches his interest just to have a taste of the new additions to the devices.
