Carry it everywhere

You never know when you will get the opportunity to take a great shot, hence it is best that you should have a phone with you which has camera The beauty of the phone is that it is light and can be kept in your pocket all the time. You do not need to carry any point and shoot device or have to charge any second device to utilize the mobile phone camera. Most people take more photos with their phones than the cameras. Carrying it everywhere you go will give you a chance to take beautiful shots whenever the opportunity arises.

Utilize phone features

One of the crucial tips for mobile phone photography is to make use of the features that the mobile phone comes with. Although you might think that some of the features are only gimmick, there are some that can actually help you take good pictures. You can start by turning on the HDR mode on the phone. This takes two images: a standard one and one that merges several exposures together on a fly. The result can be dire but there are times when it can pick more detail than you would think the phone can get.

Check on lighting

Lighting is very important if you want to take a good picture. Ensure that the subject matter is well lit before you go ahead and take the photo. You can open curtains, turn on the lights or even wait until the sun is a little bit higher. You can also use the flash function if the phone has one. It is also advisable to avoid direct sunlight as this messes up the end result of the image taken.

Focus on shooting and edit them later

Part of the tips for cell phone photography entails focusing on shooting the photos then you can edit them later. Most phones give the option of editing the photo while you are shooting them. This is usually best left alone as it is only useful in very few cases. It is best to edit the photos on Photoshop, Light room or Aperture as you can get better results with this than using your phone. Taking the pictures without any interruptions gives you a better chance of taking better photos that will give you an easier time editing after you are done. You can also use panorama software for editing your photos.

Do not use zoom function

While taking photos with your mobile phone, forget about the zoom function while taking the images. This is because there is a tendency that this compromises the image by making it look much thinner and also produces unattractive pixilated images at the end of the day. It is better to try and get closer to the subject to get more details for a high quality picture.
