Rooting your Galaxy S3 gives you an opportunity to have complete control over all the configuration settings in your phone. As such, you are able to set the phone according to your specifications in order to meet your needs and applications. The best thing about rooting an S3 is that it helps you to remove software apps that were pre-installed by the manufacturer and replacing them with apps of your choice. Rooting also helps in lifting limitations that may have been put by the manufacturer in order to hinder the compatibility of some apps with your phone. However, while rooting your Galaxy S3 phone, it is important that you have the necessary technical knowhow of phone rooting. This is due to the reason that you can easily damage your phone and render it useless through unprofessional rooting. Follow the steps in this tutorial to effectively root a Galaxy S3.

1. Get all the necessary tools required in rooting

Before rooting your phone, you have to ensure that you have a suitable rooting software app. The best app to use to root a Galaxy S3 phone is Samsung Kies Software app. The best thing about this software is that it is greatly designed such that it is highly efficient and quite reliable. After downloading the best software app to use while rooting, you should then back up your contacts, files and any other important personal details in the phone. It is advisable that you should back up your details on a personal computer for easy retrieval .What’s more is that you should ensure that all the drivers that are required for your phone’s operation are securely saved in your computer. In addition to this, you should ensure that you have the latest versions of the drivers.

2. Extraction

Extraction is required in order to root your pone’s operating system so as disable manufacturer’s settings. You should extract your phone’s Odin 3 with the use of WinRar software or any other relevant extraction software. After this extraction, you should then run the exclusive install (executable) file in order to install it in your personal computer where the drivers are saved. You should then conduct the extraction of the CF Root (archive) file. While extracting this file, it is important to ensure that you are extra careful so as you do not end up bricking your phone and consequently rendering it useless. Always ensure that you refresh your computer before extracting the files from the phone. This is so as to ensure that no alteration occurs to the files while being saved in the computer.

3. Load Odin App

In order for you to load the Odin app into your phone, you need to open the application. After opening it, you should then click on the PDA button in the download files. These files are located on the bottom right hand side of Odin 3 app’s interface.

4. Set your phone to the download mode

After loading the app, you require to configure your phone such that it’s in a download mode. After setting it to the download mode, you should then switch it off press the volume, home and power buttons all at once for a few seconds. While the phone is still in this mode, you should reconnect it to the computer and wait for a message(Added Message) to flash in the message box of Odin. After connection, the phone’s screen should turn black as the rooting process is in progress. After the process is over, the phone automatically reboots itself to its standard operating system of your choice.
