Learn to Take Better Pictures with Photozeen

September 19, 2013

Been itching to start a new hobby and love taking photos? Well, as technology has advanced by leaps and bounds, cell phones have evolved from mere vocal communication devices to mini computers, allowing a person to check emails, draft documents, take snapshots, oh yeah, and talk. Back to the photo-taking capability. Most of us are just using our cell phones to take photos, because who wants to lug around another device when you’re on vacation. With that, comes learning how to take a good photo with your mobile.

Photozeen App Review

Wazzup Lab has come up with a brilliant and fun way to take better pictures with your phone, turning into a game of sorts. Photozeen is an app available on iOS, for free, that hooks you into a social gathering of photographers who are all in search of better photography.

Not only that, you get it in fun packaging called quests, in which you are challenged to submit a photo on a topic, view others’ photos, comment on them and get ideas from those that are submitted and shared. It’s a quick and easy way to get ideas, suggestions, and inspiration for what kind of photos to take and how to take them. We all want to take better pictures, and Photozeen serves up the assignment in an entertaining way.

The quests become more challenging and more interesting as you advance through them and your ratings get better. You are not locked into climbing this ladder; you can continue on the same quests and continue to better yourself at that level or photographing category.

Not interested in joining a quest? You can just as easily browse what others have posted or submitted, merely for some ideas. There is no need to commit anything if you don’t feel up to it; but, the experience is much richer if you engage. As you submit comments on photos and get comments, you collect in-app points that afford you higher ranking on the leaderboard. Not sure what you do with this, but hey, if it makes your day, go for it!

Be wary of the photos you may come across. The app is rated for age 12+, but it seems anyone can post almost anything, as there is a warning on language and nudity. You may be able to avoid both by careful choice of quests, but be sure not to let your kiddos surf the different quests, lest they stumble upon one not of your choosing.

Everyone is out and about these days, sharing what they are doing the instant they do it. When on vacation, we are all taking fabulous photos of what we see and what we are experiencing, oftentimes unhappy with how a photos comes out. Photozeen makes for a fun and easy way to learn how to take a better picture, be it of a person, a scenery or an activity.

It provides instant inspiration with mini-quests that assign a challenge, show examples of what meets the quest, and the ability to easily upload and submit your entries. You get feedback that helps you make adjustments and learn more about photo taking. No need to go sit in a classroom and learn about focal points and lenses. Photozeen has it all right in the palm of your hand.
