We’ve all been there, we’ve snapped up what we thought was the latest piece of technology for a bargain price and then found out the reason for the ‘Big Sale’ was because a new model was set to be announced! On the other hand, maybe you switched allegiance from Android to iOS or vice-versa and simply cannot adapt to the new system – again, it happens so don’t stress yourself.
Ok don’t panic. Whether you’ve done this with an iPad, a Nexus, or whatever device, you may now be thinking, dang I want to sell my iPad or other tablet and upgrade to another one! The good news is, iPad devices in particular retain their value quite well, as do other tablets, so if you have only had the device for a short period of time, you will have no trouble recouping a lot of the value.
Alternatives Out There If You Do Sell Your iPad
Perhaps you want an iPad Air having had your socks blown off by the launch. Or maybe you’ve decided now after having a play with tablets, you want to invest in a quality iPhone 5S instead, or as you’re using the budget from selling your iPad maybe an iPhone 5C.
Maybe instead of Apple products though, you think Google has really done its research and its latest array of tablets and phones are just too good to ignore. Certainly they come in a significant amount cheaper than Apple products, so you may even be able to get a tablet and phone for only a little more than you paid for the iPad.
Then there is Samsung, LG and other tech firms competing for your money too, so you certainly won’t run short of choices when looking for alternatives.
How Can I Sell My iPad?
So you know what you want instead, but you’re not sure of the how.
There are a number of ways to sell your iPad. You could list it on an auction site or even in your local newspaper. For your own peace of mind, you may want to use a tech recycle firm instead. A good recycling firm will never put old gadgets in landfill and will always offer you a nice chunk of money to go with the knowledge your device isn’t adding to the huge level of e-waste we generate each years.
If you’ve hardly used the device, you could even give it to a friend or loved one as a birthday present if you’re feeling particularly generous
Things To Remember When You Sell Your iPad
If you are selling any smart device such as your iPad, you will need to remember to make sure you delete it to ensure your details remain secure. This will involve a simple reset on the menu. As each device is different it is best to look at the advice on Apple’s site for your particular model.
Before you delete the content of your iPad, don’t forget to back it up though! Although this is usually done automatically, you may want to double check and make sure you’re device is either backed up on your computer, or on the cloud. Again check the Apple information pages for further information on how to do this.
Give it a quick clean too, and if you are listing it anywhere requiring pictures, make sure you take some snaps that show off just how immaculate the condition of the device is.
