You can’t have a smartphone and not listen to music. And you can’t simply listen to music and be without sharing your favorite tunes with friends. Sure, there are plenty of music-related apps out there in the marketplaces that let you share stuff you love to listen via Facebook and Twitter buttons but here’s an app that lets you play any song you like, create playlists, share them with your friends directly, or follow them on Twitter and Facebook and see what they are sharing with you. The app is called Musx and it is available on the App Store for free.
Musx App Review
Facebook and Twitter are great social platforms in themselves, but when it comes to music, most music recommendations are lost in the mountain of news and stories that are trending everyday. Musx cuts out all that noise and makes music sharing more relevant. You can simply search your social networks for people who are using musx and then share music recommendations with them.
Once you sign up, you can add or save songs to your queue for your listening pleasure, like songs other musx users are listening to, add your comments, and reshare them. In fact, you get the distinct feeling that musx is like an Instagram for music.
The Home screen is displayed in a timeline. Each post is a song with information about it, links to YouTube, and buttons to interact with the community. If at any time you find a shared song that you like to hear again, you can hit the + button and add it to your queue. Simple swipe controls makes it a breeze to add, delete or rearrange songs in your queue.
Musx has a couple of playlists. One is Recent Favorites which you earmark as favorites of course, and the other one is Shared by Friends, which is the list of songs shared by people you follow. You can also create a custom playlist and add songs you like to it. The Notifications section lists all activities in your account such as the new followers you picked up during the course of the day.
The only downside to the app is that it is relatively new so you may not currently find a lot of people using it. However, this is still a cool app for finding songs on YouTube, bookmarking your favorite tunes, and even finding trending music.
This one’s bound to get better as more and more users join in, so if you love music, love to share music, and love to hear what others are listening to, check out this free app on your iPhone and iPad.
