A typical scenario in most homes with a PC is that the whole family uses it for their various browsing needs. But while there is the rather easy option of setting up personal profiles and using them, that invariably never happens; at least most of the times. So when you open up your browser to do some work, you discover that not only has your browsing history become accessible to others, but your browser settings have been tweaked by someone leaving you quite frustrated. Since you’re not going to get them to use their own profile, and password protecting your password is a big bother, you are left with either buying your own personal PC (which you can’t afford) or just live with it!
That is why this web application is significant. It lets you create your own personal browser that you can customize to your own needs and use it all for yourself. What’s more, you can even create one for your ma, your pa, and your nosy sister! Let’s take a look at a promising new tool, MakeMyBrowser.com.
Getting Started with MakeMyBrowser
MakeMyBrowser.com is based on Google Chromium and can be setup in three simple steps. To get started, just hit the Start button on MakeMyBrowser.com and follow the online instructions.
You will need to name your browser, upload your photo, and click Next. Then you can set up your bookmarks but is entirely optional. Gmail, Facebook, Yahoo and Amazon bookmarks come pre-installed with the browser, and you can add other bookmarks plus set up your home page too.
In the next step you set up your theme. There are eight beautiful options for you to choose from and once you’ve made your selection, accept the term and conditions and hit Finish and download.
When your download is complete, just double-click the EXE file and accept the license agreement and wait for the browser to set up. It took about half an hour for my download to complete, but I don’t have the fastest internet connection in the world. Once its done, you’ll find a shortcut icon on your desktop, but you can also pin it to your taskbar for quicker access.
MakemyBrowser is a simple yet useful tool that is perfect when you want to use a personal browser that looks and works like Chrome. It comes with the added advantage of customizing it to your requirements, and supporting all the Chrome extensions you’ve come to love. You can even share the browser you created with friends( don’t worry..none of your passwords or personal data will be shared).
If you like the idea of setting up a different browser for each of the people who use your computer, MakeMyBrowser.com is a pretty good tool to try.

UPDATE: Mike Miller CTO of MakeMyBrowser.com, quickly reacted to my review and explained to me that user experience was of the utmost importance to the team. With that in mind they migrated their files to a cloud optimized storage to improve download speeds. And guess what! A quick test revealed that the whole process was completed in less than 5 minutes. Kudos to the MakeMyBrowser team for their commitment to provide the best experience for users.
Once again, do try out this cool tool and let us know what you think.
