Shark Run is a heart pounding action/arcade game created by up and coming indie developer Game Grenade. My name is Matt Crawford, and I am the lead designer at Game Grenade. Today I have the privilege of talking to you about our first game and our first Kickstarter project featuring Shark Run.
Our game is about a fast and furious (pun intended) chase that features Max our hero riding on a jet ski. He is out enjoying the sun and surf of this tropical seascape when he finds himself the target of a 100ft monster shark! Well like anyone in his position, he guns the gas on the jet ski in an attempt to flee the pursuing behemoth.
Shark Run GamePlay
Shark Run will have you dodging various obstacles while trying to collect coins and power-ups. We will have the assortment of power-ups the player can collect during play, but only after they have unlocked them. Unlocking power-ups is done by using the coins earned while evading the shark. Not only will we have power-ups, but new characters, jet ski designs and even shark skins!
If you are not familiar with Kickstarter, it is a site that has a community of people that pool their resources together to help independent artists complete a project. In this case, the project happens to be an iOS game that we are making. The site has been featured on CNN and TIME magazine as its popularity has steadily rose, which helps add to its credibility.

Projects go from hundreds of dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars and the pledge amounts start at $1. So there is a chance for everyone to help their favorite projects without breaking the bank. Another really cool aspect is the reward system. In order to show our gratitude to those who wish to help us we have rewards built into the pledge amounts called tiers. To give you a little taste of our rewards, they range from getting your name in the credits of the game as a supporter to the very rare Shark Run custom iPhone case. Who doesn’t want to show off an awesome game and brag about having your name in the credits! Check out our Kickstarter page to see the full details on our rewards.
I am super excited about getting this game made and even more excited that I got to talk to you about it. We need all the help we can get as we are a new studio, so pass the word along to your friends through Facebook and Twitter. You can also come by the Kickstarter page, linked at the bottom of this post, to get the full details on our rewards and how you can help us get this game made.. Thank you for your time and have a great day!
