Before phones got smarter and music went digital, it seemed that all technology did was to complicate our lives and fill up our pockets. There came a point when you needed one device to call people, one to send messages, one to listen to music (as well as however many cassette tapes you could carry), one to open the garage, one to lock your car, and the list goes on. Although all of these devices did really cool things, who really wants to carry around seven different electronic gadgets everywhere they go? Now however, technology is constantly coming up with ways to simplify our lives. We can now achieve all of the aforementioned things with just one device.
And it is getting better by the day. Not only can we listen to music on our phones and control our homes with apps, we can deposit checks with a photo, and businesses can receive payments using an iPad. Our cars and fridges are wifi enabled, and we can start up our engines without even leaving the house. But the best thing about being able to do all of these things is that you can do them all from the same place – your phone. With smart technology, every aspect of your life can now be seamlessly integrated to allow you to have full control over anything you need, from the palm of your hand.
How Smart Technology Integrates with your Personal Life
Smart Technology At Home
You can control every aspect of your home using a couple of apps on your smartphone. If you have a security system in place, you can switch it on and off, and receive alerts when there are security breaches. If you don’t have a security system, you can still get an automatic lock that you can activate with your phone. If you have security cameras, you can view the footage on your phone. You can link all of your lights together and control them using an app, and you can even monitor your energy usage and turn your heating and cooling up and down from wherever you are, as long as you have your phone.
Smart Technology In the Car
Cars today are amazing. They can come equipped with wifi features and GPS, and now they will connect with a smartphone to allow you to lock and unlock them with an app, or even start the engine and control features such as the heating or air conditioning.
Smart Technology Out Shopping
New phones have also changed the way that we shop. To prove it, here is an example of a typical hi-tech shopping trip. Start the day by checking your fridge, and realize you are out of milk. Type it into your note taking app on the wifi-enabled fridge. Go to the store and check the list on your phone to make sure you don’t forget anything. Go to the mall and use your phone to scan and compare prices of items before deciding to buy something. Go to pay and check your bank balance online before realizing that you forgot to deposit this week’s paycheck. Take a picture of the check and deposit it immediately. Pay for your item using your phone, and walk out of the store. Sit on a bench and watch a video on your phone to reward a hard days’ work. Our phones are incredible things, and they are allowing us to have complete control over every aspect of our lives. It only makes you wonder what they might be able to do next.
