Winter would be cold and forlorn if it wasn’t for the excitement and magic that Christmas brings… for most of us anyway. If you love Christmas and can’t wait to get into the spirit of things, here’s an iOS app that should set the mood for the days ahead. Its called SNOWidget and is brought to you by Johnny Ixe, developer of the handy DataMan app that helps track your data usage. The app hopes to bring a bit of winter cheer with falling snow and a Christmas countdown as well. Let’s take a peek at SNOWidget on an iPhone 6.
SNOWidget Christmas iOS App Review
SNOWidget, as you can guess from the name, is a notification widget that promises to bring plenty of snow on your iPhone notification screen. It also acts as a Christmas countdown app so you can check in everyday to see how many days to go before you can open up the presents under the Christmas tree or have a piece of your mama’s delicious Christmas pudding (among other things).
SNOWidget is a highly customizable app. Open up the app as soon as it launches and you can customize the widget size to your liking, modify the font, and set the countdown calendar to show up in days or hours. At present the widget size is at 120 pixels but you can reduce it to as low as 80 pixels or high as 620 pixels. The widget is configured to display the HelveticaNeue-CondensedBlack font, but you have plenty of other options to choose from, in fact 70 different fonts to choose from.
To set SNOWidget as a notification, you’ll have to open up the Notification screen by swiping down from the top of the screen. Then select Edit and in the Today screen , scroll down to the Do Not Include section. Tap the green + button next to the SNOWidget Christmas app to activate it and then exit the notification screen.
