I currently have over 5500 email messages in my Gmail Inbox predominantly containing subscriptions to my favorite online shopping sites. Most times, I simply give up looking through them, simply because the offers become too overwhelming. Until I discovered a sweet little tool called PeeqPeeq that rummaged my Inbox, pulled out most of my shopping related email, put them neatly into a folder called peeqpeeq and let me view them, in a pretty card-like format. Here’s a look at the peekpeek web app by RokketLaunch.
PeeqPeeq : A Review
PeeqPeeq is available as a web app or an iPhone app. If you are planning to use it as a web app, simply head over to peeqpeeq.com and hit the On the web button. You will be asked to login using your Gmail account, Yahoo account, AOL mail or others. Just select the email account you receive most of your shopping subscriptions from. Then grant the required access to the account. And Voila! In a few seconds, your Inbox will be thoroughly scrutinized and your shopping subscriptions will be converted into a catalog.
In your respective email account, you will notice that a new folder called peeqpeeq is created and your shopping email categorized and moved into it. If you find that some email messages are left out, you can forward that email to [email protected] to add it to the catalog list.
To view all your shopping subscriptions in a catalog form, you will have to go to the peeqpeeq website. It displays a My Catalogs section where you can see your email converts. PeeqPeeq has its own catalog that shows you promotions and shopping offers from a huge category of items from Flash sales to sports and outdoors. And it is this catalog that truly catches the eye. If you find something you like in the list, you can click and Bookmark it (click the Bookmark icon) to view it later in your My Bookmarks section.
You can also view your catalogs on your iPhone or iPad by downloading the PeeqPeek app on your Apple device. This is a great way to browse through the sales and offers on the go, when you are stuck waiting for the bus, or just idling around.
PeeqPeek :The Good and the Bad
Peeqpeeq is an app that’s still in its infancy and there is still a long way to go before the app truly comes into its own. Its pre-cataolged list looks awesome and is every shoppers dream, but it does not do a very good job of picking out your shopping subscriptions in the first instance. There is a workaround for it, but if the service promises to pick up your subscriptions, I expect it to do just that.
PeeqPeeq does not work on some email services including Hotmail, Exchange and POP accounts. Also you cannot use the app on multiple accounts, though you can have the app set up individually for each account. There is no app for Android yet. And for the cautious shopper, there’s always the concern about a relatively unknown company misusing your email information.
Some users may consider it to be a rather unnecessary app, but if you simply love browsing through all the best shopping there is to be had, you’ll enjoy what PeeqPeeq has to offer.
