VG Whale is a Dream App for Every Video Gaming Fan

February 12, 2014

If you are an avid video gamer, you are probably scouring a dozen or so websites looking for all the latest news and information on the games that are going to be released in the future. VG Whale is a relatively new Android app that hopes to bring all video gaming fans the latest news, trailers, wallpapers and more instantly to you in an attractive format.

VG Whale Features

VG Whale upcoming games

VG Whale is a free app for Android that lists all upcoming games, top picks and your favorites in a beautiful swipe-able card-like format. Currently the app features Xbox One, Xbox 360, games, but there are slots for PS3, PS4 and Wii U which will be opening up shortly. You can also filter game release information based on whether you are in the US or Europe.

Tapping on a card will take you to a full screen page where you can watch the trailer, favorite the game, buy it online, share the story with your friends, and even set a reminder on the date of release. You can also add a widget to your Home screen. If wallpapers are available, you will get the option to download and add it to your Home screen as well. Games that you follow will be added together as a card collection. You can simply flip the cards to watch trailers, download wallpapers and you can even shake your device to get a random surprise.

The only downside to the app is that it is still in its infancy and is not as robust as I’d like it to be. Still, I reckon this is an app that’s only going to get better in the coming days.

So the next time you want the latest information about upcoming video games , you don’t have to go browsing to IGN, GameSpot and other websites. Simply install VG Whale and have all of them delivered to you on your smartphone.
