Anyone who steps into the world of YouTube ends up spending more time than they bargained for. There’s so much entertainment in those short little video clips that even your regular dose of TV cannot match. While that remains the case there are issues that provide a dampener to the whole YouTube experience. Poor video quality, slow buffering, inconvenient screen sizes, just to name a few. We bring you a list of handy YouTube extensions for your Chrome and Firefox browsers that should improve the way you watch YouTube.
5 YouTube Extensions for a Better Viewing Experience
YouTurn
YouTurn is a YouTube browser extension that lets you auto replay a video. All you need to do is click the grey circle in the address bar when you are watching a video to set it in auto replay mode. This will turn the grey circle to green. When you’ve had enough, you can click the green circle to turn it off. Download for Chrome. Firefox users can try the YouTube Auto Replay extension.
Video Pinner
This YouTube extension lets you pin the video onto the screen when you scroll down to read the comments. This saves you the hassle of scrolling up and down and you can enjoy the twin benefits of both watching the video while reading through the comments. Download Video Pinner for Chrome and for Firefox.
YouTube Resize
If you don’t like the standard Small, Medium and Large Size player options in YouTube, try YouTube Resize. This extension adds a resize bar next to the video in Firefox (invisible in Chrome) and you only need to drag the bar (or the video in Chrome) to change the size. This only works on Flash videos while HTML may work but with some problems.
Download YouTube Resize.
YouTube Lyrics
You can turn YouTube into your very own karaoke machine with the YouTube Lyrics browser extension by Rob W. Although the extension is called YouTube Lyrics, you can also get instant lyrics on Grooveshark and Spotify (currently in private beta). You can read more about how this extension works here.
