Let's face it! Once we head over to YouTube to watch a video, we can never tear ourselves away from it until we've seen some more. No matter how busy we are or how much work/study pressure is on us, we always allow ourselves a little bit (sometimes more) of liberty when it comes to watching something on YouTube.
Blame it on the cool playlists, recommendations and related videos... the fact remains that YouTube eats into our productivity. There are plenty of browser extensions we've covered in the past (YouTube Options for Google Chrome and QuietTube) that offer us a chance to view YouTube videos without distraction. In this post we take a look at yet another Chrome extension, DF YouTube (Distraction Free).
DF YouTube (Distraction Free) Chrome Extension Review
DF YouTube is available on the Chrome Web Store as a free extension. Once you download it, the DF icon will get added to the right of the Address bar. Clicking on the icon will display options to deactivate the extension or change the settings.

Click Options to view the extension's settings. By default, Hide feeds, Hide Related Videos, and Hide Sidebar are disabled. You can additionally turn off comments and playlists.

Now when you tune in to YouTube to watch a video, it will display in Theatre mode with all the distractions turned off. If you want to watch more videos, you'll have to manually search for them - which you may not be inclined to do all the time.
DF YouTube extension for Chrome is a rather simple, straightforward tool that does the job it set out to do. You can easily control what gets displayed and changing the options doesn't take any additional effort at all.

So the next time you need to watch an educational or work related video and dread how much time you're going to end up losing on YouTube, install this extension and get more work done.
