Apple Event Roundup: Say Hello to the iPad 4, iPad Mini and iMac

October 26, 2012

Apple events are just as exciting as their products. This holiday season, it looks like people are going to be showered with Apple products from their loved ones as Apple launches iPad 4, iPad mini, and iMac! What started as a rumor proceeded to a lot of speculations and is now introduced to the market as iPad Mini. Not just the miniature version of iPads, there has been couple of other releases too much to the surprise of Apple fans around the world. Not only did Apple release an iPad Mini, but they also released the 4th generation of their iPad 7 months after their iPad 3 release. This is something Apple has never done before and something they kept tightly under wraps. The next big release is the next generation Mac with the thinnest screen and introducing MacBook Pro with retina display.

Amongst all the products released, iPad Mini seem to be the star of the event die to mixed reasons. Many expected the miniature version of the iPad to be more reasonably priced but were astounded to see the expensive price margin set by Apple. However, it did prick the curiosity of a lot of people as mini tablets have already hit the market produced by Samsung, Google and Amazon. Many feel that Apple has released Mini to compete in the market and to increase their sales in return. Whatever the reasons might be, like other Apple products it is going to cause a wave in the market. The only hindrance is the expensive price of the device which is much more when compared to other mini tablets.

Apple 4th generation iPad

Called the iPad 4, it comes with an improved A6X processor, lightning connector (similar to that of iPhone 5) and a 4G LTE compatibility that supports carriers around the world. The release of iPad 4 was clubbed with the release of Mini. This tablet is going to be thinner than its previous generation. Though it does come with an exciting package, many Apple followers are a little disappointed as the previous version had come only a few months back.

Apple has stated that this is the most beautiful Mac they have ever made till date. Though the Mac is thin, it looks bulkier due to the fatter depth on the back and thin edges. The highlight feature is the 2mm air gap available between the panel and the glass and is laminated together. This lamination reduces the glare and reflectivity ate the same time enables it to be thinner. The reflection has been reduced by 75%. The new Mac comes in 2 versions: 21.5 inches and 27 inches.

With three devices introduced by Apple, the iPad Mini definitely took the lead. Here are few highlights that seem to be the major topics of discussion after the release of these devices:

  • How good is iPad Mini when compared to the rest of the competition in the market?
  • The price quoted for these miniature versions are extremely expensive.
  • It is not as small as many expected it to be.
  • Is it really necessary to make iMac extremely thin?
  • The MacBook Pro is now enhanced with a Retina Display.
  • The massively powerful fourth generation iPad.

Though this is the first time Apple has released successive devices at the same time and I am sure the sales will be equally good because it is Apple and the produces one of the best and premium hardware!
