Apple iPhone 5 represents the pinnacle of the company’s engineering to deliver the slimmest yet powerful smartphone ever. Apple launched the device at an event held on 12th September 2012 and announced the price, which is similar to the iPhone 4S device. While this exciting price will surely draw the expected attention, the real question that stands in front of everyone is what makes the 6th generation better than the 5th.
Is the Apple iPhone 5 better than iPhone 4S
The iPhone 5 was the most awaited smartphone of the year and there were lot of speculations and rumors about the phone’s features, specifications and more. Many expected the device to come with a larger 5 inch display but the new iPhone has arrived with a 4 inch display instead which is still larger than the 3.5inch screen of 4s. Plus, the company has improved the quality of the Retina Display imparting an improved screen resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels with a pixel density of 326 ppi (pixels per inch) over the 960×640 rating of the preceding device. The contrast ratio is about 800:1, which is purely incredible allowing you to view images, pictures and videos in quality like never before.
In short, keeping the basic design structure of iPhone 4s, Apple Inc have created a longer, slimmer and lighter version of 4s that not only feels better in hand, but also looks much cleaner and smarter. And the credit for that goes to the new refined rear Aluminum finish that has replaced the smudgy glass cover of the previous model.
On technical grounds, the device has all the qualities and features that can satisfy any expert. It is powered by an advanced Apple A6 chipset that is claimed to be one step ahead of the Apple A5 chipset carried by iPhone 4S. Quoting to provide a better browsing experience to users with high speed surfing and the finest graphics, Apple iPhone 5 also supports all forms of advanced networks such as 3G with HSPA+ speed, EDGE, GPRS, 4G with LTE speed, and more. Still, as per the latest reviews something seems to be missing in the magical recipe that is preventing the 6th generation from outshining the 5th gen model.

That’s because despite all these amazing features and attractive price tag, the performance of the device has not witnessed much of a revolution, and is still comparable to that of 4S. Besides, there has been no enhancement in memory storage either which remains fixed at 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities and comes as a slight disappointment for Apple fans.
Summing it all up, Apple Inc have brought about the much-needed and much-awaited upgrades in their brilliant line-up of smartphones countering the growing demand of Android devices quite cleverly. And there is no wonder that you will fall in love with the all new smartphone from Apple. But, still it would be absolutely wrong if we say that the Apple iPhone 5 will make Apple iPhone 4S disappear completely from the face of the smartphone market. At least, not yet!
