Today’s camera-centric smartphones have turned the casual smartphone user into a photo-snapping junkie. With Android smartphones becoming better and better with time, we find an increasing number of awesome photography apps that help complement every user’s photo capturing skills. Camera360 is one such app that has come a long way since its launch on the Play Store. In its latest version update (4.7.1) we find that the app has included an interesting Live Effects feature to top off its expansive list of cool options. In this post we take a look at Camera360 Ultimate, the photo editing app that is packed with so many good features, it may take awhile for you to figure it all out!
Camera360 Ultimate: A Review
For the uninitiated, Camera360 Ultimate is not a camera app that does the usual crop, rotate, and contrast adjusting stuff. It has some cool shooting modes, effects and scenes options that lets you do plenty of fun things with your images and share it with the world.
Shooting Modes
Effects Mode, Funny Mode, Tilt-Shift and Color-Shift Mode, Audio camera mode and Quick Shoot mode are just some of the Shooting Modes available for you to play around with.
There are also options at the top of the app to adjust your Flash, Focus, White balance, Timer, Stabilizer and Exposure. The Audio mode, for instance, lets you record 5 seconds of sound along with the picture. This is a cool option that brings a realness to the photo capturing moment and is perfect for sharing on social networks.
Live Effects is a recently updated feature in Camera360 Ultimate. It lets you preview your photos in real-time as you take them. However, the feature is in Beta, works only on limited devices, and did not really work on my device at the time of writing this review.
Picture Effects
The Effects menu is attractive with 16 different types of effects that you can apply to your images. However what is interesting is that the effects have a wide range of related effects to offer a truly exciting list of options to select from. For instance, when you choose the Magic Skin effect to glam up your beautiful wife’s picture, you can choose from natural beauty to sexy lips and glossy sub-effects. Similarly, in the Retro mode you can choose between a golden, emerald, faded effect, and more.
Scenes
Scenes are a bunch of preset images that will be combined to create an interesting photo effect of your image. You need to slide the Shutter button to the right to get on to the Scenes gallery. From there, you choose a scene of your choice, and you will then be able to take your picture and superimpose it within that scene. Scenes are truly fun to experiment with.
Photo Collage
If you want to create a picture that combines two or more pictures, you can select all the photos you want to use for your collage, and then choose the Puzzle or Photo Splice option and arrange them in a layout of your choice.
Sharing and Cloud Storage
After you’ve captured your images and applied the desired effects, you can share them on your social networks as well as on other networks. Camera360 Cloud is the app’s cloud bank where you can store and manage all your uploads easily.
Conclusion
Overall, Camera360 Ultimate is a fun photo editing app that is a great alternative to Instagram or Snapseed. It is not only feature rich but also fun to use and for the price of free, you won’t lose anything by giving this app a go.
