Windows Live SkyDrive is a great cloud solution for users, not simply in terms of its free storage (25 GB), but also with regard to its powerful sharing and collaborative features. Microsoft has now made SkyDrive accessible via the iPhone and Windows phone by way of the SkyDrive app. Download the official SkyDrive app for iPhone and Windows phone and simplify your cloud document management while on the go.
SkyDrive for iPhone lets you access all your SkyDrive files including the files that are shared by others with you and view the recently used documents. Just like the popular Dropbox services, you can upload photos or videos from your phone, share files via email, as well as create or delete file and folders.

Once you download the app, you will need to sign in using your Hotmail or Live account credentials. The home page displays your files, recently accessed files, shared files, and settings.
When you upload files to your SkyDrive account from your PC, the app instantly displayed the synced files. The files can also be viewed in a thumbnail view, which is pretty cool. The files and folders are well organized, as you would expect from the “Office” guys. Sharing photos, videos, or files with permissions is also a breeze.
There are still a few missing features in the app, namely the ability to favorite, edit, or save files. I guess you cannot have the perfect app at launch itself and Microsoft is sure to add more features with upcoming versions.
The official SkyDrive app for Windows also works just as well as the iPhone app, if not better.
