The holiday season is just around the corner and that means new smartphones and tablets are going to compete with each other for space under the Christmas tree. If the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus is at the top of your list on the iOS side, the newly announced Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 should also be kept in mind if you’re thinking about an Android one. Yesterday, Google unwrapped its much talked about Nexus 6 smartphone and we take a look at what it has to offer consumers this time.
The Nexus 6
Google’s latest smartphone the Nexus 6 comes to you courtesy Motorola and its more than just a Motorola smartphone, its more appropriate to call this one a phablet. Motorola has carried the design of the 2014 model Moto x on to the Nexus 6 but there are enough tweaks to give it that old familiar Nexus look.
The Nexus 6 is a pretty beefy product with a 5.9 inch QHD display, a quad-core 2.5GHz Snapdragon 805 CPU, 3GB RAM, 13 MP camera, 3200mAh battery, and two storage options 32GB or 64GB. The big display and powerful CPU is most likely to nullify the effects of that hefty battery, but there should be enough power to squeeze out of it despite the fact. There’s good news though in the form of a support for turbo charging, that can charge up to 6 hours of life in just 15 minutes.
Google’s latest operating system, Android 5 Lollipop runs on the Nexus 6, which promises to deliver the best Android experience yet with its highly praised Material Design. There are loads of other improvements as well that should make the Nexus 6 stand out including improved security and lockscreen notifications, business oriented features, battery optimization, quick settings and so on.
