The build up to Apple’s event on Tuesday had users, fans, and consumers super excited, especially since the event was all about the launch of the iPad mini. Apple did launch the iPad mini, but it seems to have been overshadowed by the surprising news of the 4th generation iPad. What should have been another spectacular Apple show turned into a rather disappointing day for many. The iPad mini was really a mini version of the iPad 2, with a harsher price tag. And Apple’s announcement of a 4th generation iPad is sure to have left a bitter taste in the mouths of all new iPad customers, many of who waited all day and night outside the Apple Stores to get their hands on the spectacular new iPad. Whatever happened to Tim Cook’s big speech about the iPad 3 being the best and fastest selling device? It’s off the stores in just a little over 6 months!
For those of you who have been saving up to buy an iOS device this Christmas, there’s some cheer. If you planned on buying the new iPad, you won’t find it in the online Apple store anymore, unless your looking for a refurbished iPad 3 at $380. Instead you could just wait for the 4th gen iPad that will be available at S499, November 2nd.
Apple appears to have shifted its product launch cycle strategy, which means you may soon see the launch of the 5th generation iPad maybe as early as summer of next year? It may even be, that by next Christmas you’ll see an iPad 5! But of course, this is a big let down only for consumers who wish to own the latest and best gadget on the planet at any point in time, and there may not be many who fall into that elite group. Still, it appears that the Apple halo over the die-hard Apple loyalists appears to be fading.
