You could of course, use it for umpteen number of other things or give it to your friend in need or a family member, but exchanging it is just as good an option as any. AT&T’s Trade in Deals
You can head over to AT&T’s trade-in program page to check up the trade in value for your device. In exchange for your iPhone, you will receive an AT&T Promotion Card within 2 to 3 weeks from the time the company receives your device. AT&T accepts iPhones from other carrier’s also. You will get a better deal if your device is in a good condition and although the company does take in damaged phones, it is at a much lower value. And, if your phone is really bad, you’re simply better off recycling it.

Verizon’s Trade in Deals
Verizon’s device recycling program lets you determine the value of your device and exchange its worth in Verizon Wireless Virtual Gift Card. Alternatively you can donate it to a charity that Verizon supports. Verizon also accepts phones from other carriers and will offer you some value even if your phone does not turn on, but its off to the Recycle bin if your phone is water damaged.

T-Mobile’s Trade in Deals
T-Mobile offers a maximum value of up to $330 for the iPhone 5S variants, but it all depends on the condition of the handset. You will obviously get a lower value for damaged handsets. T-Mobile also accepts phones from other carriers. On Sept 17th, the company is expected to offer a price-match program that will meet the trade in values offered by its rivals and throw in an extra $50 worth of bill credit as well. Apple’s Trade in Deals
Apple has its own trade in program, which offers you $310 and $175 if your iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C is in good condition respectively. If the devices are cracked, you’re likely to get $92 and $52 respectively and if there’s water damage or your phone is not turning on, you can simply send it for recycling. Apple will also accept an iPhone 5 for $205 in perfect condition, and offer $62 if it is cracked.
Amazon’s Trade in Deals
Amazon is accepting only phones which have some visible wear and tear and are fully functional with no cracks. Obviously, if it has a flawless display with all accessories intact, it is in good condition and is acceptable. Amazon’s trade in values also depends on the carrier and color of the phones. You can get Amazon Gift Cards of up to $400 for a 64 GB 5S model or $313 for the 16 GB model. Just head over to this page to find out the trade in values for each variant.
Best Buy’s iPhone Trade in Deals
Best Buy accepts iPhones as long as they are in good working condition with no visible cracks, and no extra servicing required. You can get $300 for a 16 GB iPhone 5S from AT&T while a model from Verizon, Sprint, or T Mobile will only fetch you $285.
