The Google Play Store holds a vast collection of Android apps and games with plenty more launching everyday. You and I both know that its simply impossible to keep track of or stay up to date with all of them. That’s where Mobi market, a new app from Mobo App Store comes into play. The app promises to pull together a wide collection of the best free Android apps that are available on Google Play and deliver it to you in an easily viewable format. Let’s check out what the app has in store for users.
Mobi Market – Free Android Apps Store
Mobi Market is a free app that can help you find the latest and best free Android apps in the market. When you download and install Mobi Market, you’ll see a tabbed interface listing different categories of free apps. The Editor’s Choice section lists apps handpicked by Mobo’s editorial team. The Home tab lists the best free apps of 2014 as well as the weekly best apps, but the latter did not appear to be updated since the 21st of December 2014.
The Top Free section lists the most popular free Android apps while the New section features apps that are relatively fresher. The Top Download page lists the most downloaded free Android apps and there are two surprising sections one for Mini Games and the other one for Games Online.
Mini Games promises to let you check out the hottest new hit games in HTML5 that can be played from anywhere without installation. Sadly both the Mini games and Game Online sections did not work on my Galaxy S3.
Mobi Market has a menu bar at the top that lets you access the Mini Game and New apps sections as well as the option to sign in to Facebook and be a part of the community. A search button at the top of the screen lets you find free Android apps within the app.
When you select an app, you’ll be taken to the app description page, which also lists other apps users have downloaded. All downloads are redirected to the Play Store, so there’s no worry about spammy or fictitious apps sneaking into your Android device.
Mobi Market – Pros
– Play Store like interface listing free Android apps
– Features a decent collection of top apps, new apps, editors choice and more
– All downloads are redirected to the Play Store
Mobi Market – Flops
– Doesn’t seem to display up-to-date information
– Certain sections of the app do not work
– The Menu section is mostly redundant
– Does not display date of launch or update
Final Thoughts
Mobi Market’s attempt to bring the latest and best free Android apps in Google Play falls short of what users expect from it. The interface is not as smooth as one would expect and the app collection seems to be dated. That said, if the developers make the data flow more dynamic and interactive, there’s good potential to build a great free Android apps community around it.
