Motivation puzzle game is the newest logic and puzzle game developed by Oasis Studios. Simple yet challenging, it is reminiscent of those maze-like games where you have to move an object through a labyrinth to get to the next level. The difference lies in the movements or directions being limited, thereby requiring strategizing or planning beforehand.
Motivation Puzzle Game Gives Your Brains a Workout
Motivation utilizes a very simple and straightforward concept. In each level, you are presented with a grid-based environment, each one more challenging than the last. Your task is to lead the rolling ball – aptly named Roland – through the grid using a combination of arrows. Take the ball to the exit in order to move on to the next level. There are a total of 140 levels that you have to complete. It sounds simple enough, but the ‘hard part’ would be the planning or the ‘mapping out’ of Roland’s path before starting to roll it. Basically, you’ll be ‘motivated’ to finish level after level, until you complete all 140!
To get started, all it takes is a tap on the screen. Once Roland starts rolling, he will have very little control, and the only way he could change direction is by placing down the arrows. That is precisely the reason why this game requires a lot of planning. You will be given a combination of 8 arrows – all set at a 45-degree angle – that you will use to lay out the path of the ball through and across the grid BEFORE you set it to rolling.
However, at any given point in time, only 4 types of arrows can change the ball’s direction. This is because the arrows to be used will depend on the direction that Roland is heading. This means that the arrows pointing behind the ball or to the general direction that the ball is headed are irrelevant.
Move up through the levels and collect Stars and Achievements along the way. These Achievements come in various forms or functions that you can use to get through future levels when you find yourself in a bind. Remember the goal: complete all 140 levels.
The strength of this app game lies in its simplicity: a simple game concept, executed in a challenging game play, all wrapped up in a great design. Oasis Studios has established a reputation as one of the better app and games development teams out there today, and they certainly did not disappoint with Motivation. The increasing level of difficulty pushes all the right buttons for those who are looking for challenging puzzle games, and this addictive game certainly does that.
The grid-based environment is presented in a no-frills, no-fuss interface with a nice texture to it. It comes with options including Music and Sound Effects. At the beginning of the game, you can “Suit Up!” or choose the appearance of Roland by picking your desired color.
Those who are looking for a new and ‘fresh’ concept, with a flashy or ‘edgy’ user interface, will most likely be disappointed with Motivation, since it basically uses an old game concept that they‘ve probably stumbled on to in other puzzle or game apps.
While it is true that Motivation does not offer anything new by way of its concept, it more than makes up for it by the challenge it poses as you rise up the levels. This game is so fun, and so addicting, that you can’t help but be motivated to complete all 140 levels!
