Share Documents on SkyDrive in 4 Quick Ways

Windows Live SkyDrive is a fantastic cloud solution for working with your Office documents from anywhere, at anytime. With about 25 GB free storage and options to edit, share, and collaborate with other users, you get great value by signing up for a free SkyDrive account and saving your documents therein. For users already using Windows Live SkyDrive, here are 4 quick ways to share documents on SkyDrive.

With its recent updates to the Excel Web App the Web App team has made additional improvements to improve the sharing and collaborative features in Office Web Apps. So if you’re preparing to share your documents with other users, take advantage of these latest improvements.

4 Quick Ways to Share Documents on SkyDrive

1. Share using the Toolbar

You can share a document that you are working on by clicking Share in the toolbar. In the pop-up window, enter the email addresses of your recipients, a personal message, and set the edit or sign-in permissions and click Share. Sharing is just one –click away! Your recipients will instantly receive a link to access the file.

This pop-up box also allows you to share your documents on social networking platforms such as Facebook and LinkedIn.

2. Right-Click to Share

One of the easiest and most commonly used methods to access frequently used commands is the right-click action. It’s the magic genie that’s always around to help accomplish things quickly. Now you can not only view, edit, or download documents, but also share them easily.

3. Share a Link

If you want to share your Office documents with a specific group of people, you can create a link that you can then share with that group of people. You can also set permissions according to how you wish the document to be used by the recipients. To share a link, click Share in the toolbar,(as seen in point 1) and then click Get a Link. From the pop-up, select the option with the desired permission levels.

4. Share by Embedding Document on Blog

You can share your Excel or PowerPoint files by embedding them on your blog or  website. To embed a file, right-click the document, click Embed, then click Generate. A HTML code will be generated that you can incorporate into your blog or website.
