We all have songs on our iPhone playlist that we once loved, but now keep popping up when we are least expect it to. Every time one of those songs play, we say to ourselves, “I need to clean up my library!” but never really get down to doing it. While the iPhone's built-in music player does not offer the chance to mark those songs as NOT TO PLAY while you are listening to it, there is an app that will - Skiplayer.
Manage Your Music Playlists by Gestures Using Skiplayer
Skiplayer is an app that’s driven by simple gestures to play, pause, mark and move around your playlist. You can be just about anywhere, at home, at work, busy doing something, and still be able to make a change to what you are listening to by a simple swipe or tap.

When the app first comes up, it immediately begins to play a song. From that screen, you obtain control of what plays using your fingertips:
- Pause and play with a single tap – anywhere on the screen!
- Swipe left or right to play the next or previous song
- Swipe up or down to see the playlist, or the app’s menu
- Tap and hold to see the Skip Forever and Favorites icons
A simple tutorial guides you through the gestures necessary to navigate through Skiplayer, so you can change things out without taking a peek.
The unique and innovative feature of this app is that the entire screen is your button. There is no need to “find” those pesky icons. The screen is your control.

This can be extremely important if you are listening to music while driving. Because of its innate functionality, Skiplayer allows you to move around your playlist without having to look at the screen.
As for the screen, it makes your music look great. OK, well, maybe you won’t be looking at it, but the app creates an atmosphere that is visually pleasing to all senses, without being a distraction. It effectively creates an aura that draws you into your music without making you look at it. This is all done through graphics supporting HD retina displays found on iPhone5, 6, 6+ and iPod.

While the app provides invaluable functionality that moves you through your music effortlessly, it lacks one thing. It would be nice to have to shuffle the playlist from the mainscreen, and not have to go to the playlist to do so. It could be added as one of the tap and hold options, removing the next and previous icons, which are already provided on the playing songs main screen anyway.
In all, Skiplayer provides an amazing way to play your songs and get control of your collection when you just don’t have the time to clean it up. You can be lounging at home and listening, or driving in your car – no matter where you are, this app makes it extremely easy and safe to make changes to your library so you can listen to the music you want, by lifting just one finger.
Skiplayer is available on the App Store for $1.99. Click the link below to check it out.
