QualityTime – Track App Usage and Detox Your Digital Life
QualityTime from ZeroDesktop Inc. is available on Google Play as a free download. You can choose to create an account to backup your stats or register later. At the start, a short wizard guides you through the various features of the app. The interface of QualityTime displays a circular blue monitor that records how much time you spend on apps or how often you access your phone.
Below the alarm is a timeline displaying details of apps used. Tapping on a time zone displays a microscopic view of the exact amount of time spent on each app. If you swipe to the top of the screen you will see a daily usage report for each app. and if you swipe further up you’ll see the weekly usage of apps. Swiping to the left and right of the screen displays the usage day-wise.
Tapping on a specific app will give you a history of usage by time or by frequency of access. You can customize your tracking efforts by choosing to leave out certain apps from the process and you can also pause tracking any time you want to.
QualityTime is an eye catching mobile usage tracker that beats the default app tracker any day. But that’s not the entire purpose of the app. It’s visually captivating data is intended to show you just how addicted to your phone you are and which apps in particular throw your whole life out of gear ( that is if you are someone who spends too much time doing something totally unproductive).
If you are now starting to feel guilty about all that time wasted, you can make use of the Take a Break feature in the app to motivate yourself to stay away from certain or all apps for a specific length of time during the day. If that’s not enough you can set an alert that will tell you when you are overusing your phone.
If QualityTime impresses you, you can setup an account so you can monitor detailed app usage history for up to 6 months and the data will be securely backed up in the Cloud for future reference. QualityTime is promising IFTTT integration in the near future that will let you receive alerts from Internet of Things (IoT) when you cross the limits of normal usage.
QualityTime is in its infancy, but what it offers at the moment is pretty good. You will be surprised at how often you access apps and the amount of time you spend on frivolous activates.
If you are addicted to your mobile and need to disciple yourself, QualityTime offers you with the right diet needed to keep your digital life in balance. Go ahead and give it a try and tell us what you think.
