3. Secret Files Sam Peters
The Secret Files Tunguska series gets a spin off with Sam Peters from the game going off on his own adventure in the African Wilds in the latest installment called Secret Files Sam Peters. Sam is after an alien DNA found in a lake crater in Ghana but to get there she has to overcome the dangers of the jungles and its wild demonic night animals. There are plenty of puzzles to solve and mysteries to uncover in this captivating point and click adventure if you are willing to spend $2.99.

4. Twisty Hollow
The town of Hollow has a twisted mayor who is enforcing his absurd instructions upon its poor citizens. You need to help the poor folks keep up with the whims of the mayor by completing the various tasks efficiently. For instance, you may be required to combine items such as a farmer, a bucket and a cow to produce milk or a miner, a pick axe to produce diamonds. There are 50 levels of completely barmy things to do in Twisty Hollow and it looks like a game that is sure to offer a few good hours of light hearted play time. Price: $2.99.

5. Madow – Sheep Happens
Sheep seems to be on every developer’s mind these days. Apparently, the utterly dumb nature of the animals makes them a great subject for a game. Anyway, in Madow you are a shepherd entrusted with the task of bringing the sheep safely down the mountain, which involves opening up a lot of bridges. This is an impossible task to accomplish as more sheep get added so just aim for the big scores while you’re at it. Price: Free

6. Smash Champs
The makers of Subway Surfers are out with a new game that has you taking on the role of a trainer preparing your animal champs for a fight against your friends in turn based gameplay. Although you won’t be indulging in actual fighting, you’ll have fun watching your training skills unfold. Startlingly good graphics and a big name studio (Kiloo) are the added credits. Price: Free

7. Woah Dave!
Our game hero Dave Lonuts needs your help to help survive an alien invasion in this retro classic title from Choice Provisions. You hurl eggs, skull bombs and some explosive WOAH blocks to keep surviving and racking up the big scores. The game supports the MiFi controller and also has GameCenter leaderboards and achievements and some amazing music to boot. 8. Zombie Catchers
Halloween time is as good a time as any to kick some zombie butt! So take note of this action adventure game Zombie Catchers where you help a couple of alien businessmen armed with an arsenal of gadgets to capture the zombies and place them in a secret underground lab where they can be turned into smoothies. Now before you say Yuck!, remember there’s a lot of money to be made in the business. Plenty of challenges abound in the game but there’s a slightly offputting IAP system if you can stand it. 9. Monster Flash
Monster Flash is a game we covered in our Halloween games section and its all about defending yourself from the ghosts and the ghouls with a flashlight. Apparently there are powerups to help you defend yourself from things that go bump in the night. I say! Price: Free

Our hero in Run Sackboy! Run is a knitted fellow who is on the run from the clutches of the grumpy Negativitron. You help him in his mission by using powerups, collecting stickers, making upgrades and so on. 11. Twitchy Thrones
Its another pixel art extravaganza in Twitchy Thrones where you battle your way through a medieval land in gory battles. There are plenty of fast paced battles and you have a ton of challenges to complete before you can restore justice and honor to all the kingdoms. The game is free until 5th November.

12. Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf
This popular turn based strategy and collectible card game has you leading the Sons of Russ into battle and slashing your way through hordes of ferocious enemies in a bid to face off against your arch enemies the Chaos Space Marines. tactical squad based battles, epic campaigns, and card driven combats make for exciting gameplay.
