Korean electronic giants, LG Electronics (LG) has just announced that it will unveil its first luxury Android smartwatch device, the LG Watch Urbane at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 event next month. Despite the lukewarm response that Android Wear devices have generated thus far, LG has taken the bold step to move ahead in its Android wearable strategy with its sleek and stylish all-metal device, the LG Watch Urbane.
However, unlike its casual plastic-y predecessor the LG Watch R, the Urbane is designed for the sophisticated and cosmopolitan crowd who wish to look both stylish and tech savvy at the same time. Here’s a quick look at what you can expect from LG’s upcoming Android smartwatch.
Key Features of LG Watch Urbane Android Smartwatch
?The LG Watch Urbane features a 1.3-inch full circle P-OLED display with a narrow bezel to showcase its sleek lines. Wrapped up in a stainless steel body, the LG Watch Urbane will be available in two colors; polished silver and gold finish.
Adding to its classy look is a stitched leather strap, which is easily replaceable with any 22 millimeter wide band to match the wearer's mood or occasion. The LG Watch Urbane features a touch based interface and is compatible with all smartphones running Android Jelly Bean 4.3 and up.
What is an Android Wear device without a health monitoring feature? The LG Watch Urbane features a photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor designed to measure the heart rate and average pulse rate of the wearer during exercise. Thanks to its Always-On mode, users will get to see the time at all times, although in dimmed mode as it is designed to save battery life.
