Its only a week now before Windows 8 becomes officially available to the masses and if you are eager to get your hands on the latest operating system from Microsoft, you can pre order Windows 8 right away. Microsoft has finalized pricing as the official launch date draws near and here’s the run down for you. You have a number of purchase options available, so pick one that’s works best for you.
Pre Order Windows 8 DVD
You can pre order Windows 8 Pro DVD package for $69.99 USD ERP(estimated retail price) in the U.S. at select retailers. The price will vary depending on the region as local taxes, duties, fees, and other pricing factors. You can get your pre order in stores such as Amazon, Best Buy, Staples, Office Depot and the Microsoft Store among others. (image credit)
Pre Order Windows 8 Devices
You can also pre order Windows 8 powered devices from OEM partners such as Acer, Dell, Sony, and Asus. But it is advisable not to rush into this option just yet, as the Microsoft Surface device will be available only on the 26th of October, and you will have another option at your disposal. Check out the various reviews before you make your purchase decision. Until then, bookmark these options.

Download an Online Copy
If you wish to get a copy of Windows 8 by downloading online, you can do that; and at a cheaper price too! This will however be available only from October 26th, 2012 at an ERP of $39.99. The option is available to users in 140 countries in over 37 languages until January 31st, 2013, after which the price is expected to rise presumably to $69.99.
Special Windows 8 Upgrade Offer
If you have purchased a Windows 8 PC with a valid OEM Certificate of Authenticity and product key, between June 2, 2012 and January 31, 2013, you can get the Windows 8 upgrade at just $14.99 USD ERP. The PC should have come pre-installed with either of these versions of Windows 7.

- Windows 7 Home Premium;
- Windows 7 Professional; or
- Windows 7 Ultimate.

Install Windows 8 on an Assembled PC
If you have assembled or build a PC and don’t have windows installed on it, you can preorder Windows 8 OEM with Personal Use Rights. The prices are about $100 for Windows 8 and $140 for Windows 8 Pro, but you would do well to wait until October 26th to check if additional discounts will be made available.
