Udemy is a name that is synonymous with online learning. With its rich 9K + catalog of resources, you don’t have to look very far to find a course you want to learn. Recently Udemy launched its app for the Android platform making it much more convenient for users to access their on-demand online courses 24×7. We take the app for a spin and show you all the features and offerings on the app.
Udemy App Review
Before you get started with the app you will need to register an account. You can do that from within the app of course, with an email address, or using your Google + or Facebook account.
Once that’s done, you are ready to discover courses in the Udemy library. The Discover Courses page displays its ware in three tabs. The courses that are on sale, the newly added courses and courses by categories. There are a wide variety of topics ranging from hacking your resume, how to master your willpower, gluten free bread making, DSLR digital photography, and even French grammar if you like.
The courses are listed one below the other and each course displays information about it such as the star rating, the cost of the course and the number of students who are taking the course. When you select a course, you get a detailed description about the course with a short video promo. A search button at the top of the screen lets you search by keyword. You can find courses that are available at premium prices, but there are also free courses to pick up.
The app is snappy and quick and its simple swipe gestures let you switch between tabs or between lectures effortlessly. If you like to take your course offline, you can hit the download button at the top of the screen and then learn from your smartphone or tablet even when you don’t have an internet connection.
Key Features of the Udemy App
- Find thousands of on-demand, online courses and tutorials
- Watch courses on the go via video lectures, audio lectures, presentations, articles, and notes inside the course.
- Save courses for offline viewing so you can watch them while you’re on a plane or subway!
Udemy’s UI is currently quite simple, but I’d love to see a more diverse categorization of subjects and searching based on filters coming up in future updates. For now, if you feel like getting an education on the go, Udemy fills the requirement quite nicely.
Download Udemy for Android from the Play Store and let us know if you found the app useful.
