There’s plenty of exciting activity happening over the next few days at IFA and the Apple showdown but before the showcase events unfold, here’s some exciting news for home makers and others who wish to live in a smart home driven by the iOS platform. While Apple is preparing to officially announce the HomeKit early next week, EyeTV creator Elgato has kickstarted things by announcing a new line of HomeKit-ready smart home accessories. Lets take a look at what’s on offer.
Elgato Eve comprises a wide range of accessories that are ideal for observing certain home conditions on your iPhone or iPad. The Elgato Eve app allows you to see at a glance, the air quality, temperature, humidity, air pressure, energy and water consumption in your home. This information helps you to better understand your home and make the necessary changes to improve your living style. The pricing and availability for the Elgato Eve is yet to be made available.
The Elgato Avea is an LED light bulb that transforms your home with lighting effects to cater to your moods. It creates the perfect atmosphere if you want to unwind by subtly changing light. This works with the help of Bluetooth technology on the Elgato Avea app for iOS. Elgato Avea is available at the Elgato online store for $49.95, while the app is available as a free download from the App Store.
