You may remember that it was initially made available only for residents of the UK. You can get the latest BBC News now on your Android device and stay upto date on the latest happenings from around the world.

BBC News lets you read the latest headlines and top stories from around the world, watch the world news summary, and listen to live streaming news. You can configure your app settings to check out news from a variety of topics such as science and environment, entertainment and arts, health, and technology and from a preferred region of your choice.  You can also update your account settings to get automatic news updates, and set the frequency of the updates.

BBC News is well presented, easily configurable and is a pleasure to browse. You can choose topics and regions of your choice by tapping EDIT at the top of the screen or EDIT TOPICS at the bottom of the screen, and set automatic download preferences by tapping the Menu button  on the device.

When reading articles, you can increase or decrease the font size by tapping within the article and choosing the –A or A+ icons, or share the articles over the web or mark it to read it later, if you have installed the Read it Later app.  Navigating to other articles within a category can be done by swiping to the left or right, as you would while reading a book.
