Send Large Files on Android (Up To 10 GB) with WeTransfer App

July 22, 2015

In the age of digital sharing, its hardly surprising that we are looking for better ways to move photos, videos and other documents and files from one device to another seamlessly. There are countless apps and websites that let you share your photos and videos with your friends and contacts, but if you’re looking for a way to send large files on  Android in one fell swoop, WeTransfer is an app that will come in handy.

WeTransfer App for Android is one of the most straightforward and easy to use apps on the Play Store. It lets you share your photos and videos with anyone just by adding their email addresses and hitting the Transfer button. It also offers uploads up to 2 GB for free and up to 10 GB on the premium plan making it easy to transfer HD videos in one go. Also, you don't have to login or sign up to start using the app and transfer your stuff.

As soon as you open up the app, you’ll see a message that tells you what the app can do. Swipe up to move that message out of the way, and you’ll be in your Picture gallery. Just tap on all the photos and videos you want to transfer or move. If you want to preview the photo or video before you send it, you can tap and hold it to see the preview.

If you want to select more than one photo or video, simply tap first and then double tap to select a range of items. Double finger swiping will let you scroll between months and triple finger swipe will let you go right down to the bottom.

Once you have selected the videos or images you want to send, you need to click the next button at the top of the screen.

In the next screen, you need to type out the email address of the recipients or select one from your contacts, then enter a message and hit the Transfer button.

WeTransfer makes all transfers immediately without any lags. While the transfers are happening, you’ll have some pretty background screens to look at instead of the dull loading screens you’re generally used to seeing on uploads.

You can cancel or pause the upload at any time using the button options at the top of the screen.

WeTransfer Android app also integrates itself with other apps so when you want to share something specific from another app, you can do it via the Share button.

WeTransfer Android App is free to download and use but if you opt for the premium Plus plan, which costs $10 a month (yearly), you can get more great features including password protected file sharing, long term storage, personalize your downloads with custom backgrounds.

One of the main grouses for most users is the inability to do anything on the device while the transfer happens and despite the attractiveness of the background wallpapers during uploads users would rather have the app run in the background so that they can continue using thier device while the transfer happens.

If you frequently find yourself sending large files on Android, consider using WeTransfer. You'll find the download link below.
