The Process of Setting up Android VPN

Android has served to be a magnificent platform for the built-in VPN service. When using a smart phone, users can connect to VPN just by following some simple steps in order to start using Android VPN. VPN networks are rather easy to connect to as all the users have to do is go to the settings and configure them accordingly. In this post we take a look at the process of setting up Android VPN.

Android VPN Connections

VPN services like L2TP, L2TP/IPSec CRT and most commonly used PPTP can be used on android based devices. These VPNs are basically point to point protocols which are provided by Microsoft Dial-up. The set up for android VPN is vary according to different VPN services and most importantly, from mobile to mobile. However, the general settings for android VPN are likely to give the users an idea about the configuration.

Setting up Android VPN

In order to connect to android VPN, users must know their VPN credentials. This mostly includes the username and password, if any. At times a password has to be asked for from the VPN providers along with other relevant information regarding connection settings of android VPN. The VPN address, which is an IP address, is also required for verification purposes. The most significant part of the process is to ensure if the users’ VPN service requires encryption.

Without knowing this, users can’t begin the whole process thus it has to be confirmed by the VPN service providers before moving on. The process for setting up android VPN begins with going to the wireless and network settings. This is where the connection will be actually created. After going to the menu, selection of the wireless and network setting option is required. These settings are mostly standard and therefore, similar in majority of the mobile devices. Afterwards, users must select the VPN connection which will be popping boldly on the Screen.

Following the selection of that option, a button stating “Add VPN” will appear. This should be tapped to reveal a mist of various types of VPNs which are used by the people generally. Now the users can choose according to the king of android VPN they Prefer. It can be either L2TP or PPTP.

Configuring Android VPN

Later on comes the time for the actual configuration settings. These begin with stating the VPN name, setting up a VPN server, enabling encryption and DNS search domains. The encryption is a default setting and is provided by the android VPN providers whereas, the actual address for the VPN connection must be entered to enable browsing safely with the VPN service.

After setting up an android VPN, users need to connect to it eventually. This requires going back to the VPN list and selecting the VPN which was created in order to use. An “add VPN” option will appear and users can tap on it to start enjoying the benefits of VPN services and browse the internet with maximum protection, even visiting the content which is either blocked or inaccessible. Users can disconnect the VPN connection after they are done with the browsing, in order to use it next time, by going back to the VPN list.
