If you are keen to get your hands on the latest Kindle device, its already up for preorder on the Amazon Store and will become available on 27th April 2016. Obviously before you jump in, you need to know what the latest device has to offer that makes your old Kindle look lame. Let’s check out all the tech specs and special features of the Amazon Kindle Oasis, shall we?
Top Features of the Amazon Kindle Oasis
Thinnest eReader Ever
The Amazon Kindle Oasis is thinner and lighter than every other previous model. The handgrip tapers to an ultrathin 0.13 inch display on one side, making it easy to hold it in one hand for hours. It is both 20% lighter and 30% thinner (at just 131g without the cover) on average than any other Kindle with the strongest ever cover glass making for the most comfortable reading experience.
Better Ergonomic Design
Efforts have been made to improve the ergonomic design and that shows in the handgrip shifting the center of gravity to the palm so you can rest the device comfortably as you would a book. Dedicated page turn buttons are now available on the Amazon Kindle Oasis so you can comfortably turn the page, but touch turn options are also available. The device can also automatically rotate the page orientation so you don’t have to worry about using it on your left hand or your right as the orientation will switch to match your reading style.
Kindle Oasis features a high-resolution 300 ppi display making text look crisp and clear. The redesigned built-in light has 60% more LEDs than older devices and is designed to guide light towards the surface of the display rather than shine the light in your eyes like backlit displays. This reduces eyestrain and makes for more comfortable reading.

Dual-battery Charging Option
The battery life on the Kindle has never been much of an issue but the new Kindle device makes it all the more better. The Kindle Cover can now act an a charger and if you charge the device and cover simultaneously, when you’re on the go, the cover automatically keeps the device charged. That means instead of just week’s battery life you can extend it to months. Plus, an added Hibernation mode is now available that minimizes power consumption when your Kindle is inactive.
The removable charging cover is made of high-quality leather and is available in black, merlot, or walnut. The cover opens like a book and wakes the Kindle Oasis when opened while putting it to sleep when closed. 12 magnets hold it to the device but its still easy to detach it should you want to make it lighter.
The Kindle Oasis starts at $289.99 and is available as a Wi-Fi model or with 3G.
