Apple Event Surprise: New iPod Touch and Nano

Recently Apple launched three of its most awaited products, iPhone 5, 5th generation iPod Touch and the new iPod Nano. Apple shocked the world by releasing the new iPod Touch and Nano along with its iPhone 5, when most were speculating a much later date for the release for these two products. All though Apple’s iPhone 5 was the star attraction as it is the most expected and anticipated gadgets in recent times. After all the excitement had died down, it was time to take close look at features and functions for both versions of the new iPod Touch and Nano.

To start with most of the features are similar to the iPhone 5, like the same Retina Display which is 4” for both gadgets, and aluminum (brushed design) finish. The aluminum finish is to substitute for chrome which is likely to be covered with scratches if you do not use a cover. The interface is very similar to the iPhone 5 and provides stunning graphic visuals for playing the latest game apps for Apple. The new iPod Touch has a striking look and comes in two colors black and white. This is the slim and sleek iPod touch model yet; it is thick by 6.1mm and weighs 88g with all the latest and updated features included.

  • Front camera with Face Time & Front Shooter.

All these features are assembled in an ultra sleek iPod Touch case, the battery lasts much longer when compared to the other Touch versions. 8 – 9 hours of continuous video play and 40 – 42 hours of music can be expected before the battery drains completely. The most important new feature to be employed is Siri voice recognition application from Apple.

New iPod Nano

The new nano looks like a miniature version of an iPhone. This is the slimmest iPod nano yet, with a total thickness of 5.4mm it is thinner by 38% when compared to the earlier version of the nano. The new nano comes with the trade mark home button that is available for all Apple gadgets. The volume rocker is extra large and is given on the left side of the nano and has many functions like volume control, pause/play, back and forward. The screen display is much larger and is 2.5” which make watching videos more fun. The nano is available in 7 different colors (shocking bright) and the aluminum design is similar to the one given for iPhone 5 and the new iPod Touch. The new iPod nano is the seventh generation.

There is an inbuilt integrated FM Tuner; there is also a inbuilt pedometer. The new nano also has Bluetooth services. The iPod nano has up to 30 -32 hours of battery life. The new iPod nano comes with support for 29 languages. Another new feature to be added to the nano lineup is the multi touch option. The seven colors available are yellow, red, purple, green, black, blue and white. The iTunes has also under gone a complete makeover to add additional functions and features for Apple’s new products. Other products launched alongside these gadgets are Apple’s new ear phones or head phones, they are named aptly and it is called EarPods.
