Mobipocket Technology
The ebooks of Amazon are based on mobipocket technology. That is directly based on HTML format. Consequently the best conversion is only attainable by html format. Project Gutenberg has libraries full of html books.
Mobipocket can convert easily structured HTML, notepad file, Microsoft word files, Microsoft excel and pdf files. Excel and PowerPoint documents still need improvement. It can handle images shown in a document. It’s simple and free.

Step 1: Download Kindlegen from the Amazon Website
Obtain kindlegen from Amazon’s website.
Step 2: Unzip or Unlock the Required files
It is quite simpler when you unzip the files into the folder where your eBooks are kept. Now delete the zip files.
Now your option broadens to some extent. You can make a simple book or a convoluted book and it all depends on how you use HTML. Notice a folder named sample in which there would be a complex manuscript given and all the necessary files required to perform it. To make a simple book on kindlegen you will first need HTML format. These books are available at project Gutenberg.org where loads of HTML books are available. Moreover you can convert PDF books to HTML by converting software. After the conversion, place the book in the kindlegen folder.
Step 3: Enter the Command
After opening the command line open the folder containing eBooks as well as kindlegen.
In windows operating system, go to start button>run>cmd. The same is possible for Linux too. That option is available under accessories. Open the kindlegen folder.
Step 4: Remember This Command
Enter in the command line <kindlegen.exe ebook.html>
The command statement is showing the particular folder where you will be having the HTML book and now its time for conversion. For Linux it has to be precisely something as mentioned below;
/media>disk>Documents>ebooks>kindlegen>kindlegen /media>disk
>Documents>ebooks>kindlegen>ebook.html
Step 5: You Are Almost Done
The ebook.html is the book, you are going to convert. The eBook should be in HTML format for use in kindlegen.
Step 6: File Created
Observe that an original file has been inserted into the directory of ebook.mobi. Wire the kindle with laptop or computer and start dragging and dropping the files into kindle.
Step 7: Start Reading
After the .mobi file has been created, place it into kindle’s eBook list.
Step 8: No Strings Attached
Disconnect the kindle from the computer and start it. If the above procedure has been done correctly you will be able to see the eBook.
Now that you know the process you can drag and drop book at your own convenience into kindle. Enjoy your eBook.
Note: Troubleshooting will occur in the complex book conversion. You can negate most of them.
