How to Sync Your iTunes Playlist with an Android Device

January 11, 2012

If your PC has got a cool set of songs on iTunes that a family member uses, but you only have an Android device with no direct access to the songs, then don’t fret. With a Wi-Fi connection, the TuneSync HomeStream desktop server application and Android app, you can effortlessly sync your iTunes playlist with an Android device. This tutorial shows you how to sync your iTunes playlist with an Android device.

How to Sync Your iTunes Playlist with an Android Device

1. Download and install TuneSync™ Windows on your PC and run the TuneSync Server Setup wizard to install the app.

2. Download and install TuneSync HomeStream™ app on your Android device.

3. On your Android device, type the computer name you wish to sync with. If you’ve already connected your Android device to your PC, you can simply select the iTunes library that is displayed.

4. TuneSync HomeStream will start copying the selected iTunes playlists in the background and keep your Android device synchronized on a regular basis. (Note that the wi-fi connection must be on the machine on which the TuneSync Server and iTunes is setup.)

In a few minutes, you’ll have all your iTunes categories displayed in Artists, Genres, and Playlists tabs.

TuneSync HomeStream for Android has a clean interface and you really needn’t do much except enable your Wi-Fi and sit back. The only preference settings are setting up your Host computer and modifying the password.

Just tap the artist, genre, or playlist item to start playing the songs. There are very basic controls such as play, forward and backward controls. You can also shuffle the songs or turn on the repeat mode in the Song screen. You can also multitask while listening to music on the app, which is not a bad feature at all.

The ability to find songs by search, by album, or by song are still not available and this may be a huge drawback with the app. Nevertheless, getting your iTunes music to the Android device is effortless. One hopes that in future versions, more features will added. Until then, download this free app, and enjoy your iTunes library right from your Android device.
